USB / Battery Foundation Brushes

Hiya Darlins

If you keep up with my Instagram?  at least one of you must :)  you would have seen me moaning just before Christmas that my beautiful Magnitone Blend Up makeup brush had broken! you can read my original review here

USB / Battery Foundation Brushe

No fault at all of my beloved blender, it was my own fault for being too heavy handed trying to remove the head for cleaning.

As it was just before Christmas I felt a little awkward about buying myself a new present although I was heartbroken.  And now with the firm commitment not to spend too much on cosmetics this year I had the bright idea of attempting to replicate my baby with a cheapo version.  I personally have no issue with bargain versions as long as they work.

My first port of call was Amazon where I amazingly only found two, I honestly thought I would be spoilt for choice, but no?  maybe it's not such a popular gizmo as I had thought, and I guess to be honest had I not have had the Magnitone Blend Up sent to me for review I doubt I would have rushed out to buy one.  Having used this method of applying foundation I have to be honest and say it's my favourite, I have not found anything that can compare for achieving *the blend*  I did buy a foundation brush head for my Clarisonic but it was quite expensive, while it does the job it's a total pain changing brush heads every day and I keep the Clarisonic in the bathroom so it didn't really work.

Here are my Amazon finds

Marske Power Spin Makeup Brush. £10.42

This is crazy good value, it comes with 2 brush heads which is brilliant as you can have one off and one drying, it takes  1aa battery and blends well enough,  (it's no Magnitone ) I have to be honest and say I don't see the point of it being angled and would prefer it not to be, but hey ho for that money who can complain?
It does say one head is for powder and the other for foundation but they are identical so I think it's meant to be a selling point.  This brush spins rather than being sonic vibration, not sure I love it.

No Name gizmo at Amazon £4.49

This little gizmo was a huge surprise, to be honest at the price and size I expected it to be absolute rubbish, and it turned out quite the reverse, it blends like a dream, is the perfect size for your handbag so that if your foundation starts to creep into lines, you can whip it it and give a quick blend and the problem is solved, I love that it has a cap, charged in moments by its own USB cable.

The downside is that it's a noisy little blighter, my youngest daughter  (27) just laughed when I showed her and said  "Oh Mum its a vibrator with a brush head"   I didn't ask how she knew! and I pretended I had no clue what she meant lol. Apart from the noise BUZZZZZZZZZZZZ  I love it, again it's no Magnitone but if funds are tight and you want something for your handbag then this is for you.  To be honest when I replace my Magnitone Blend Up I will still keep this noisy little devil to carry around for touch ups.

What are your thoughts on this type of makeup application?  is it something you have tried or thought of trying?
