Hi Lovelies

When Elijah Choo the founder of Bodhi and Birch goes quiet on social media you know something is in creation!  I was fortunate to be part of the testing review panel on the exciting new range from the brand The Superfoods Series.  This niche luxury Eco brand are committed to bringing us the absolute best when it comes to natural skincare that has been created and made in England.

the NEW Superfoods Series consists of 5 new products.

  • AVO BAO Cleansing Balm
  • LEMON WATER Hydrosol Tonic
  • SUPER 25 Botanical Serum
  • TOMATO SEED Cleansing Oil
  • RENSHEN ROOT Exfoliant and Mask

The range  is Mixable, multi-use, essential oil free skincare featuring potent superfood ingredients and pure natural minerals from the earth. Vegan, tested on people not animals, and made of the purest possible ingredients known to man.  I am a huge lover of cleansing balms so when asked which product was my favourite from the range the obvious choice for me was Avo Bao Cleansing Balm, although it was a tough choice between Lemon Water Hydrosol Tonic and Super 25 Serum :)

Bodhi & Birch Avo Bao Cleansing Balm

On first appearance it is not the most glamorous looking product, the black glass jar designed to protect the ingredients from damaging light is super classy and classic, the balm itself is a slightly muddy looking green. There is no stripping of natural colour and adding fragrance with Bodhi and Birch. What you see is what you get!  Pure & Natural.  The fragrance is a mix between Avocado & Chocolate, not by design its the pure Avocado mixing with Virgin Coconut oil that I believe is causing the fragrance. One major thing to note is that this balm contains Cannabis Sativa ( Hemp seed oil) don't get too excited there is nothing here to get you arrested. Hemp seed oil has been around for yonks and the use of Cannabis Sativa is going to be huge in the beauty industry with lots of brands beginning to  recognising it's benefits. As always Elijah is in the front of the pack, many will follow!

Using the balm for the first time is a sensory experience, you only need to massage the smallest amount onto your skin and take deep breaths to experience the beauty of it, add a few drops of warm water and watch the balm emulsify into a gentle creamy liquid, rinse away with a warm damp washcloth and you are left with perfectly clean balanced and settled skin, no redness, itching or tightness going on here.
