Natural World Superfood For Hair Coconut Milk

Natural World Superfood For Hair Coconut Milk
Natural World Superfood For Hair Coconut Milk

Hi Loves

Let me just start by saying I had never heard of Natural World Superfood for hair prior to being sent these products, so I had no clue what to expect.  Good, bad or indifferent and possibly downright awful, which had that been the care they would never have a appeared here and a quick sorry "I don't like you" would have been sent to the brand or PR.  Fortunately this wasn't the case and I have actually fallen a little bit in love.

Here's why. Firstly the products are like holiday on your head!  The coconut fragrance is sheer heaven I don't care is you are washing your hair in Scunthorpe or Streatham you will think you are in the Seychelles, ( well almost) if you close your eyes :)

Natural World Superfood For Hair Coconut Milk

Natural World Coconut Milk Shampoo 500ml

Designed to add hydration to dull looking hair, this shampoo cleans and moisturises without a huge amount of foam, which I love due to no SLS which is just a wasted chemical designed to add foam so that we see a product as luxurious! my coloured hair can often feel like cotton wool after the wash process, not so with this shampoo you don't need a huge amount and my hair was left fairly soft ready for conditioner.

Natural World Superfood For Hair Coconut Milk

Natural World Coconut Milk Conditioner 500ml

Once again close your eyes and travel off to exotic lands as the fragrance hits you, this conditioner left my hair super soft and tangle free, which was achieved naturally as unlike a lot of conditioners it contained no silicone which gives a false shine. my hair was easy to comb through even when wet.

Natural World Superfood For Hair Coconut Milk

Natural World Coconut Oil 100ml

This for me was the icing on the cake, I use a hair oil daily when I wash my hair ( one from Morocco) and I honestly didn't think anything could compare. Hands down this product is equally as good but for a tiny fraction of the price, run through the mid sections and lengths of the hair it leaves your hair with the most beautiful fragrance and soft shine.

Overall my hair looked really healthy, and I felt good knowing the products were junk free.  I don't usually mention prices on my blog but really felt the need to to with this brand, these products are a mere £6.00 each for the Shampoo and Conditioner and £5.00 for the coconut oil. BUT these are currently half price at £3.00 each shampoo/conditioner and £2.50 Coconut Oil HERE

Natural World products contain nothing harmful no Parabens, Phosphates, silicon, gluten, dyes, mineral oil, sls, and no sles. VEGAN & CRUELTY FREE. with 95% natural derived ingredients which have all been created in Soho London.

Too Faced Peach Frost Melting Powder Highlighter

Too Faced Peach Frost Melting Powder Highlighter
Too Faced Peach Frost Melting Powder Highlighter

Hi Darlins

Are you a highlighter lover? It took me a while to get into wearing highlighter but now it has become part of making this face look dressed! It would be like going out with no lippie on. Of course it's a balancing act as it's great to look at instagram beauty and think you need your cheek bones lighting up a whole room but in reality you don't want to look like a disco ball, well not at my age anyway, less is more :)

Too Faced Peach Frost Melting Powder Highlighter
Too Faced Peach Frost Melting Powder Highlighter

It's a funny thing, I had no real clue as to how much highlighter was a thing until a year or so back, I was at a beauty event and no less than three people actually commented and named the brand and shade of highlighter I was wearing!!! one was a male make up artist that I love so I was pretty flattered if not a little embarrassed at my face being discussed.  Good god these guys knew their stuff!  Back to today I have to admit to being a little obsessive with highlighters, and have a shamefully large collection so I think it's safe to say I know a good one when I try it. Chunks of glitter need to apply, we don't want you!

Too Faced Peach Frost Melting Powder Highlighter

Once again Too Faced are here with what can only be described as perfection! while I might sound a little biased as I adore Too Faced I didn't expect it to beat my current favourite which is the one that caused the discussion I mentioned earlier, I wont name the brand but you will know who I am talking about with Opal and Champagne Pop.  She has gone to the back of the drawer and the one I reach for now on a daily basis is Too Faced Peach Frost Melting Powder Highlighter in the shade Happy Face. It applies like a dream, the creamy soft texture adds a candlelit glow which can be as subtle or as strong as you dare to go, no glitter or iridescent purple tones here,  and again with the beautiful Peach and Sweet Fig fragrance we have come to know and love.  If like me, you have *laugh* lines rest assured Peach Frost will neither highlight them or sink into them, it sits beautifully on the skin bringing you a glow you didn't know you had! If you have never tried a highlighter, I urge you to go for it: seriously you will literally see your face come alive, looking fresh a glowing which quite frankly we could all use :)

L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara
L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

Hiya Darlins

I wasn't actually going to write about this L'Oreal Mascara as when it first came out it had such a huge amount of hype I didn't buy it, sounds odd I know but there is something about hype that actually puts me off a product, I often think is it good? or is everyone saying it's good as they don't want to be different from crowd?  Plus I am usually late to a party anyway as it's rare I get excited about launches, I have learnt from experience that you don't need to buy everything as soon as it hits a shop counter. A lot of those impulse *must have* buys for me have turned out to be a complete waste of pennies!

L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara
L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

Once the hype had died down I picked up the Non waterproof version of Paradise, years ago I was a die hard fan of waterproof mascara, mainly as I was always in the gym and back in those days I would never be seen without my *eyes* on, since then I have learnt that non waterproof actually makes lashes look longer and softer and of course it's easier to remove.  On first glance I thought the brush looked gloopy and thick, well!  talk about easy to apply. It literally swept through the lashes picking up even the tiniest ones leaving a really feathery look but also with volume, I tend to find that you often sacrifice one for the other, not so with this mascara. It has been a joy to use and although the brush looks a million times more gloopy than it first started out it still does an amazing job and is one that I reach for more often than not.

L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara
L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

So. Having had this success and being back in the gym I decided to pick up the waterproof version of L'Oreal Paradise, I have been wearing no *eyes* to the gym for weeks and this is fine, however if I go mid day or late afternoon it leaves me looking like a new born piglet all day and it was beginning to feel a bit un-cared for, I decided to stop scaring people at the gym and put a lil bit of lash on. I didn't expect much length or volume from the waterproof version but have to admit to being pleasantly surprised, not as good as the original but not far off!  The brush is beautifully soft, not at all gloopy and sweeps effortlessly through the lashes, It has stood up to very attractive gym sweat, and swimming/showering without budging, which works for me.

Check it out HERE

I have also spotted that L'Oreal have a lash primer in this range, I will pick that up and bring it to the blog soon.

Moschino Miniature Collection Exclusive at World Duty Free

Moschino Miniature Collection Exclusive at World Duty Free
Moschino Miniature Collection Exclusive at World Duty Free

Hi Loves

What are you like when it comes to travelling? If you are anything like me one of the things I look forward to as part of the trip is a serious wander around Duty Free. To be fair only the beauty department, this in itself is always a problem as I am so transfixed on all the gorgeousness I can never decide what to buy and end up rushing and stressing as the boarding gets announced. I have only just discovered that you can browse Duty Free online before you even hit the airport, and even BETTER you can reserve your items for collection and pay when you get to the airport!!!  how flipping brilliant is that?  the search allows you to even narrow down to your own airport and terminal - brilliant!

Moschino Miniature Collection Exclusive at World Duty Free

My favourite part about buying from Duty Free is the airport exclusives, obviously it's a great tax free money saver but you are able to buy exclusive items not available in the shops.

This Moschino Miniature Collection is a prime example, and is the perfect travelling companion, firstly you don't have to worry about complying with airport sizing, secondly it gives you a choice of fragrance while you are away at the same time taking up no space at all in your luggage. I find these miniature adorable to look at, I mean who wouldn't want mini sizes of Moschino Fresh in every variety?  In fact they are almost too cute to use, I expected these to be plastic bottles, but no they are identical to the full size in glass...........too cute!

If you could bear to part with them they would also make great little gifts. Something else I forgot to mention about World Duty Free is that they also offer an incredible service that lets you shop without the worry of carrying more weight on holiday, you can select your items, pay, let them know your arrival date and time on return and they keep the items for you and arrange an easy collection point for you. check with you airport as I think the service is slightly different at each airport. But how flipping handy is that?

Take a look at the goodies on offer before you fly by checking out the website HERE. Also handy if a friend is going away and they were kind enough to shop for you.

Bloggers Vloggers & Smoggers

Hi Loves

This is one of these random thought posts that I sometimes do, I have no idea where these cranky thoughts come from but every now and again thoughts pop in and need somewhere to go.
This morning my thoughts turned to the whole area of blogging, vlogging and smogging. Why do people do what they do?  Most people have a reason for putting themselves out there on social media although I'm not sure if you asked them why they do what they do they would have a concrete answer, they may give you the answer that they think you want to hear " I love to share my passion for XYZ"  or " I do it for my readers"  well the readers came because you started so that's not an answer.

Whatever the reason it took balls,  at least I hope it did. It should be a considered action to share your life, voice and thoughts to complete strangers and hope that they don't hate you. Some will start because they think it's an easy cop out to "real" work! If you are a blogger you can stop laughing now. I have never worked so hard or stressed so much since starting blogging. Others will think it's an easy way to make a quick buck, wrong!  people will see right through that cobblers. Whatever it was I have no doubt it was genuine as after all no one wants to be the smogger!  Why did I start? if you are a regular reader you will know that I was self employed for many years and due to illness (dull) and aided by the crap economy I decided it was time to give up, bored of cleaning, washing and ironing I needed something else so spurred on by my daughter who was already blogging I decided to dip my toe and share my thoughts to nobody in particular at first, it felt as though I was talking to the air ( nothing new there then)
As time goes on you begin to realise people are reading and getting involved, you make friends and some not so friendly and you invest, both time and money but more so time. With this investment in time you become deeply committed to your blog so walking away would seem impossible. I read so often about people thinking of giving up as they don't feel they are getting anywhere.

Ask yourself - where are you trying to go?  which must come back to the question "why are you doing it"  This leads me to smoggers, yes I know it's a word I have made up but I think it accurately describes the person who is fake, the one who works behind a smoke screen of bull***t, they would have you believe that they awake everyday like a Disney princess, have the perfect outfit of the day laid out ready to photograph for your delight, their pet never craps on the floor, and when they do their cleaning videos for Youtube the house was of course spotless to start with!!  Yes; Cleaning videos are a thing!  Please..... give me a break. The smoggers are the ones who bought a zillion followers and use things like bots to like our irrelevant work, so we think oh cool, XYZ super popular blogger likes my work, NO SHE DIDN'T an app did lol, these people are amusing-frustrating yes but on the whole amusing, maybe it's my age that makes me not care what Sally in the valley is doing with her time on social media, if it doesn't affect me or my family I don't really give a frig. BUT I can see how frustrating these smoggers are for a person who wants to make a career out of social media, or the ones who work full time and invest every spare moment into creating fabulous content ( the real people) yes you!

The injustice is annoying I know and I hear so many people yelling about it not being fair and that something should be done. And yes of course they are right, but you know what? Life isn't always fair, it's a harsh lesson to learn as a kid but it's a fact of life unfortunately. But if you can open your laptop knowing that you, your life and your content are genuine then you can't ask for better than that. You can sleep at night knowing you are not a smogger and really that should be fair enough.  Ignore the smog it will dissipate it always does and life has a funny way of sorting things out for the good.

If you have managed to stay with me I thank and applaud you.

Smashbox + Vlada Limited Edition Always On Petal Metal Liquid Lipstick

Smashbox + Vlada Limited Edition Always On Petal Metal Liquid Lipstick
Smashbox + Vlada Limited Edition Always On Petal Metal Liquid Lipstick

Hiya Lovelies

You probably would have seen me going on and on about this new collaboration from Smashbox with makeup artist Vlada Haggarty, who is renowned for her amazing lip creations. (look her up) anyway this whole collection is breathtaking and for the first time ever I had a little bit of green eyed monster at the bloggers who were invited to the launch, I wasn't (sob) I even tried to persuade my friend Georgie Aldous to nab some goodies for me from the event, some friend he is LOL he returned with nothing! So on the day after the event so determined was I to get my mitts on this, I sent him indoors to Bluewater to the Smashbox store, the girls in store were as keen to get it as I was and they didn't even have it in, which was mad as it was already in Boots!

I digress, if you have not seen this collection I urge you to check it out, it is nothing less than beautiful, and is one of those ranges that you just want to own to stare at!  I was incredibly restrained and decided for now just to pick up a liquid lipstick as I know I will 100% use this a lot and not just stare at it.

Smashbox + Vlada Limited Edition Always On Petal Metal Liquid Lipstick

Always on Petal comes in three shades, I went for Xo,Vlada a stunning shimmering summer bronze, I had visions of looking like a golden goddess with my bronze lippie, all very well and fine having the looks and the hype if it worked!

Fortunately it did, it didn't make me look like a goddess but oh my lord it works beautifully, it applies evenly with one swipe, not need for touching in patches as there are non, it dries down to a soft comfortable feel that actually doesn't feel slightly dry, although you can swipe across your lips with your fingers and it stays put. I used this and had 3 coffees, 2 bottles of water and it was still as I had just applied it.  The nearest things I can compare this to are Jouer which I love and Beauty Bakerie, It beats them both hands down, in terms of lasting power.

Needless to say, I now want everything in the collection.

Bodhi & Birch Avo Bao Cleansing Balm

Bodhi & Birch Avo Bao Cleansing Balm
Bodhi & Birch Avo Bao Cleansing Balm

Hi Lovelies

When Elijah Choo the founder of Bodhi and Birch goes quiet on social media you know something is in creation!  I was fortunate to be part of the testing review panel on the exciting new range from the brand The Superfoods Series.  This niche luxury Eco brand are committed to bringing us the absolute best when it comes to natural skincare that has been created and made in England.

the NEW Superfoods Series consists of 5 new products.

  • AVO BAO Cleansing Balm
  • LEMON WATER Hydrosol Tonic
  • SUPER 25 Botanical Serum
  • TOMATO SEED Cleansing Oil
  • RENSHEN ROOT Exfoliant and Mask

The range  is Mixable, multi-use, essential oil free skincare featuring potent superfood ingredients and pure natural minerals from the earth. Vegan, tested on people not animals, and made of the purest possible ingredients known to man.  I am a huge lover of cleansing balms so when asked which product was my favourite from the range the obvious choice for me was Avo Bao Cleansing Balm, although it was a tough choice between Lemon Water Hydrosol Tonic and Super 25 Serum :)

Bodhi & Birch Avo Bao Cleansing Balm

On first appearance it is not the most glamorous looking product, the black glass jar designed to protect the ingredients from damaging light is super classy and classic, the balm itself is a slightly muddy looking green. There is no stripping of natural colour and adding fragrance with Bodhi and Birch. What you see is what you get!  Pure & Natural.  The fragrance is a mix between Avocado & Chocolate, not by design its the pure Avocado mixing with Virgin Coconut oil that I believe is causing the fragrance. One major thing to note is that this balm contains Cannabis Sativa ( Hemp seed oil) don't get too excited there is nothing here to get you arrested. Hemp seed oil has been around for yonks and the use of Cannabis Sativa is going to be huge in the beauty industry with lots of brands beginning to  recognising it's benefits. As always Elijah is in the front of the pack, many will follow!

Bodhi & Birch Avo Bao Cleansing Balm

Using the balm for the first time is a sensory experience, you only need to massage the smallest amount onto your skin and take deep breaths to experience the beauty of it, add a few drops of warm water and watch the balm emulsify into a gentle creamy liquid, rinse away with a warm damp washcloth and you are left with perfectly clean balanced and settled skin, no redness, itching or tightness going on here.

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum
No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum

Hi Loves
By now you will most likely have seen this No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum on promotional display in your local Boots store. It was launched in April 2018 as the first product in the new No7 Laboratories collection of targeted skincare solutions.

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum

I am going to be 100% honest here and say that I took one look at this packaging and thought it was a gimmick, I even commented on social media that it looked identical to something Aldi had produced years ago for their snake venom!  I can see the theory behind the Syringe style dispenser as the serum is rumoured  to be the closest thing to Botox that you can apply topically to your skin.  What I will say is that I found it a great way to dispense the serum, and being the nerd that I am I used the dispenser to apply a dot onto each of the areas I wanted to treat and it applied the perfect amount with each pump.

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum

No7 say that the secret behind this serum is their own trademarked anti-wrinkle technology Matrixyl 3000 Plus, which helps skin recover some of its key properties and components, such as elastic fibrillin that is lost in the early stages of ageing. This serum contains 7 x concentrations of Matrixyl 3000 Plus. Hence the 7x concentrate symbol on the front of the packaging.   This Serum promised visible improvements to the skins wrinkles and fine lines and call me cynical but I was sceptical to say the least.  I have had great results with No7 Serums in the past, but this seemed a little optimistic to me.

No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum

The serum is designed to use as the first layer under your usual serum and moisturiser, you apply a dot to the areas you want to treat, for me this was crows feet, vertical lip lines, nasolabial folds and marionette lines.  I applied the serum as instructed expecting to wait a few weeks to see anything happen, if at all!  -  within 4 days! I could see a difference in the softness and depth to the lines and on day 6 my Granddaughter 22.  came into the bedroom first thing in the morning and admonished me for wearing make up to bed!!  which I hadn't. This led to her peering closely at my skin lol.   I have to confess to being shocked at the visible improvement this serum made to my skin. At 61 of course I am going to have lines, that said with the amount of skincare I test on a regular basis it is very rare to see a definite change in the skin, of course it can look good, or better but for someone else to actually notice a difference to me is nothing less than amazing!

I am really quite excited to see what else is released in this new collection. If No7 Laboratories could make this serum for the body, especially the upper arms I will be eternally grateful :)

Too Faced Sweetie Pie

Too Faced Sweetie Pie
Too Faced Sweetie Pie

Hi Darlins

Ohhhhh my lord, what about this weather?  I know a lot of you don't like it, but I am honestly in my element as soon as the sun shines. I love everything about Summer, Linen clothes, fresh clean fragrance, holiday fragrance products and long ice cold drinks. Even if you have a balcony or a square foot to sit in it all feels like luxury with a long drink.

Too Faced Sweetie Pie
Too Faced Sweetie Pie

Too Faced Sweetie Pie
Too Faced Sweetie Pie

This weekend I didn't have time to indulge in laying around, I had errands so needed to look reasonably *done*  well as much as you can in this heat, as I said in a previous post I am a melter, so makeup is pretty hard in the heat.  I decided to attempt a natural looking bronzed look as I do have a little colour on my freckled chops so decided to go for it!  You can stop laughing now- it looks good in magazines ha ha.  To this end I pulled out the Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer, I have previously tested this out at home with foundation and it was great, but had not been brave enough to use it on a bare face and actually leave the house!  It was REALLY hard to use this. It broke my heart swishing a brush over the beautiful design and actually using the product, I wanted to keep it all pristine and gorgeous as it truly is an object of beauty!  I have this same problem every single time I pick up a Too Faced product, I literally want to sit staring and sniffing the Peach & Sweet Fig Fragrance, if you have never used anything from Too Faced before. Take care- that fragrance is addictive. With a mirror in the lid this is perfect for your handbag for touch ups although I have to be honest and say my face didn't need it, the eyes in the heat were another story!

Too Faced Sweetie Pie
Too Faced Sweetie Pie

There is something about this little bronzing compact that although it is a matte it literally lights up your face giving you and instant radiance, there is no disco ball look going on here, just a beautiful healthy sheer glow. The formula is creamy soft, you don't need to blow or tap a ton of excess off your brush unlike the huge cheap bronzing compacts that are more like tan dust, this is sheer heaven. I can imagine reaching for this daily now throughout the Summer and using it during winter months for a lift in complexion.

I have recently had a couple of emails about the use of bronzer as often things can get a little complicated, contour, highlight, bronzer, blusher. It seems an awful lot to use in one go, unless it's a full on evening look. I use a bronzer almost in the reverse way to a highlighter, when I am going for a bare faced look, I swish the bronze where the sun would naturally hit, rather than a highlighter which hits where the light would hit. I find a sweep across cheeks, nose and hairline on the forehead hits the spot, and for a little cheat to reduce the chin, a little swish under the chin the darken down and add shade.

As always with Too Faced Vegan Friendly.

At the time of writing this post, this link will give you FREE UK shipping direct from Too Faced, where you can also find online exclusives not available in our UK stores.  If you can't get into London for the full collection in store, I have you covered!
