Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly Review

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Moisture Jelly.

This Moisture Jelly comes in a pump type dispenser and the company tell you to use a pea sized amount, the pump dispenses the perfect amount of clear jelly, almost no perfume so nothing to make your eyes water, I was surprised by this moisturiser at first as it's a new one for me to use a Jelly and not a cream, it sinks almost straight in and really does provide a lovely base for make up. I think I may be convinced now having used it with make up, the staying power was amazeballs it made my make up last literally all day.
Made for all skin types, use day and night to face and neck, 30ml.

What the company say.
hydraluron™ moisture jelly uses a combination of 5 scientifically proven ingredients to help provide instant and sustained moisture to skin. Suspended in a hyaluronic acid matrix this refreshing jelly features PatcH20™, a micro network complex that helps to lock in moisture leaving skin soft, supple and glowing. Pair with hydraluron™ moisture boosting serum for optimal results.

There seems to be a trend at the moment for making skincare very technical and scientific, this is great, it makes us feel as though we are getting some really clever shizz, that's of course if we understand what we are buying in the first place, I think when you get to a certain age unless you keep up with all the magazines, beauty reviews etc it's easy to get left behind, I hope to bring some ease into your buying choices with my reviews and make life a little more luxurious in trying something you may easily overlook.

Indeed Laboratories Hyduralon Moisture Booster Review

I had heard a lot about Hydraluron Moisture Booster, so needed to give it a little try. Indeed Laboratories are known for highly technical skincare, and this gem is no exception.

Hydraluron  Moisture Boost Here

The company say that this serum penetrates the skins surface to provide lasting hydration from beneath, with an ultra high quality hyaluronic acid that holds up to 1,000 times it's weight in water.

Use this serum on clean skin under moisturiser, I actually used Hydraluron moisture jelly from Indeed Laboratories to test this product out. ( blog to follow on this one )
The combination of the two was unusual for me, as my skin is dry I tend to go for quite heavy moisturiser which actually gets left on the skin, this combination seemed to disappear, my skin felt soft but not greasy, I doubted it would be easy to apply foundation on this relatively dry base, WRONG !  it went on beautifully and made the make up last far longer than usual, it wasn't greasy looking but did look dewy, a nice surprise all round, another bonus was that the foundation didn't move to my hands at all during the day.

Niod Photograpy fluid Review | Deciem | skincare

Niod Photography fluid from Deciem.
I have to admit to having a tiny bit of a love affair with Deciem products, so was eager to try out Niod Photography fluid  I am going to write this assuming you are not a beauty expert, and like me had never heard of such a thing, most of us are users of a bit of moisturiser and some foundation !
skincare has moved forward by leaps and bounds and I do admit it's pretty hard to keep up, especially when you don't even understand what a product means let alone how to use it.  If you know all this forgive me, this post is written assuming blurring liquids are new to you.

If you have read my other blogs, you will have read my review on Deciem Hylamide, I used this product first on cleansed skin, let it settle then applied the Niod Fluid, now what this fluid does is something quite magical it blurs and diffuses any imperfections on your skin, I applied the white liquid and must admit a little concerned as to how this white fluid would help, it seemed quite patchy..........however........once it dried and I applied foundation, dah dahhhh brilliant ! it left the most perfect base, and actually diffused my wrinkles, ok lets be nice and say fine lines, but trust me at 58 they aint too fine :)

I am actually pretty disappointed I have no where special to go today, as my skin looks pretty damn good :)

As it says on the label it is photography fluid so is designed specifically for making your skin look fantabulous in photo's and as we are not really the selfie generation, it's nice to know that when you do have photo occasions you can look your absolute best for the camera.

£20.00 30ml glass dropper bottle.

The lovely thing about Deciem  as a company is that they bring you the absolute top of the range skincare at seriously affordable prices, I would go so far as to say they are bargain prices considering the quality.

I wouldn't use this on a daily basis, but would most certainly use it for going out, that said you may get so used to looking fab it could become addictive.

Indeed Labs NANOBLUR Review

That is one seriously huge claim for the day glow groovy box to make , if it works the TV programme is going to be out of business.

How many times have we heard these kind of claims ? to be fair they are usually on the late night shopping channels and are so expensive they let you pay in instalments !

Ok, so Nanoblur by Indeed Laboratories . First I will tell you what the Company say on the box, apparently in a study of......ready for this ? a whopping 45 men and women they all looked 10 years younger in 40 seconds !

The company ethos is this. At Indeed labs our objective is simple, eliminate all marketing hype and costs from skin treatments and instead deliver real results as cost effectively as possible.

What it says on the box.  Immediate correction of the appearance of skin ageing , including the look of lines, wrinkles, crow's feet, sagginess and enlarged pores.

Our promise, " look 10 years or more younger in 40 seconds or less. this advanced optical cream erases the appearance of skin ageing, lines, wrinkles, crow's feet, sagginess and enlarged pores within seconds without any tint. essential for meetings, events and dates."

I have to be honest, I bought this thinking oh here we go ! but it was reasonably priced so worth a lil try. And to be fair I will try anything to diminish the look of lines. It claims to have advanced optics technology to make your skin look photo ready with clever blurring techniques.

Being the cynical old bird that I am I was sceptical to say the very least,

All I can say is OMG THIS WORKS !!!!!!!!!

I gave this a try and put my face on as normal, and not one but TWO people asked me what I had done differently, one of them being "him indoors" who seriously doesn't even notice if I am wearing a new outfit from head to toe. His comment was  "what have you done differently to your make up ? "

My eldest daughter arrived, " you look nice Mum, well you always look nice but you have done something different and I can't put my finger on it "  In my book that is proof that this is some kind of magic potion, it is definitely a new edition to my list of MUST haves.  I wouldn't use it everyday, but certainly when going out, the only downside is that you could get used to looking wrinkle free and want to use it daily ha ha.

This really is something else, I promise no one has paid me to say this lol.

You SERIOUSLY need to add this to your collection Buy it here Currently half price 9.99 down from 19.99

Treat yourself, you will love me for it.

Wrinkles, Grey Hair, Stretch Marks and Age Spots

OK, now I have your attention with the title of this post, I need to start by saying I don't have any miraculous remedies in this blog, I just wanted to talk about the things we see as the years cheating us.

Claudine Penedo

I remember getting to 30 something ( yes ,I know you are impressed that I can remember that far back ) and asking my Mum when do you actually feel like a grown up ?  I had children, full time pressure filled career, mortgage etc, and yet still had moments when it all felt way to grown up for me.

My Mothers answer was NEVER...........we never feel any different inside, we still get the playground feeling of being left out if we are not invited to the party, we still get the Bogey man fears  when facing something really scary,  and butterflies at a romantic  moment, even though to our children we are grown ups.

Ageing is bullshit, don't even think about it as a topic, I know some people that seriously want to be old before their time and I know others that are just plain miracles for their age.

why not just let it be ? don't give it any importance, of course at a certain age we need to take care of things a little better  ( don't want to be breaking a bloody hip ) and we are desperately trying to repair the years of abusing our poor bodies, with booze, cigs, drugs, fast food etc .

What is it they say about hindsight ?  if I had known in my 20's and thirties how fast it all happens  ( declines) I would have taken a lot more care at an earlier age.  hey ho, I believe we owe it to ourselves to do the best we can with the cards we are dealt, if that means spoiling yourself with massages, anti age products, and the best body cream you can afford, so be it, do whatever it takes to make you look and feel good, if you suddenly bought the car of your dreams, you sure as hell would look after it, service it etc, it would be a crime not to,  so why not you ?

Food for thought I hope.

Maybelline | Max Factor | New Cid | No7 | Mascara review

Lets talk about the one of the most important make up  items that  you wouldn't leave the house without, well maybe that's just me, having blonde eyelashes I do a really good impression of a new born piglet without my *eyes* on

I do like a bit of a full lash look, not manga or dead spider but thickish lashes.
This past 2 weeks I have bought 4 mascara's to test, well actually I lie as one was free with Cosmo mag this month.

Lets start with Boots no7 Intense volume, just a note all of these mascaras are in black.
No7 I have always thought of as a good mid range brand, this mascara is  7ml and around £10.00 if I remember correctly, it is a lovely quality, smooth consistency and I would say perfect for a less dramatic daytime look, I did take a couple of coats and I'm sure it would build up really well if I were not so impatient, staying power was great, it didn't flake and fall all over my cheeks by evening. Good brush in that it picked up even the tiniest lashes.

Next is New Cid, i-intense high intense volumising mascara, This was the freebie with Cosmo mag, gorgeous case, we love anything sleek and shiny. 12ml of product. nice brush but a very dry consistency, it looked as though it has fibres in it, really messy to apply and fell off within a couple of hours. I am actually going to try again with this one as it's a brand new to me, I have never heard of it, and want to be fair to a new product, watch this space for more news on this brand.

Next up we have an old faithful and still a very firm favourite of my daughters, Max Factor False Lash Effect.  big chunky tube a generous 13.1ml of product and around £10.00, I had previously only used the waterproof version of this which I liked, but the non waterproof is even better for separation, thick creamy consistency, large brush easy to apply with one coat, 2 coats gives a really dramatic effect, fantastic staying power, I know this because I slept in it, don't you shake your head at me lol, we have all done it :)

And finally, last but by no means least , Maybelline  the Colossal Go Extreme Volum. 9.5 ml of product and a really weird shape brush, However this weird shape is actually  designed as an extreme volume double pump wand, well.....who knew ?  anyway its bloody marvellous, a fab creamy consistency, one coat really does do the trick, if you were going out in the evening you could have lashes that almost touch your eyebrows !  great product and at the moment it's on offer in boots at 6.99 with buy another product at half price. gotta love Boots for offers !

If any of these tickle your fancy and you are inclined to do a bit of lash fluttery, they are in Boots Current offers available by clicking here

Soap and Glory Freebie Offer

How funny is it that Soap and Glory are my go to brand every Christmas and Birthday for my girls ? I always get a gift set as an add on prezzie and they always love it.  But I have never bought it for myself !
No reason, just never really given it much though although I adore the smell and the sets I buy as gifts, and who can't resist something pink ?

While out shopping the other day  noticed an offer on the Soap and Glory counter, spend 10.00 and get the Righteous Butter FREE

Well why wouldn't you ?  I went for the classis clean on me creamy clarifying shower gel and the unbeliveably good Flake away shea butter, sugar and peach seed powder spa body polish, which does exactly as it says on the label, any dry spots on the body are solved with one use of this glorious scrub. followed by the Righteous Butter it all felt like a bit of a treat, and at such a stupidly cheap price it felt like a bit of luxury for everyday use.

Back in the day 70's style

Remember the 70's ?
This little photo collection should take you back, Remember the days of waiting for Thursdays just to grab your copy of Jackie magazine to take to school ?  It was an absolute must at my school and you really couldn't turn up on a Thursday without your own copy,  Doing the memory lane thing I had to add my very first grown up perfume, remember Blue Grass by Elizabeth Arden ?  can you remember your first ? bet you can.
They were the days when we had aliens mocking us for peeling and boiling potatoes,  I guess that was the start of fast food, the only fast food back in those days was the fish and chip shop, and that was a Saturday afternoon treat at my Nans, it was just normal to cook *real* food we didn't really know anything else.

After school and Saturdays Lurking around in Chelsea Girl, oh how I lusted after just about everything in that shop, and if you bought something that carrier bag was serious kudos at School :)  we really did thing we were *it* in smock tops, bell bottoms, and  platforms that if you spent 39/11d  you were really pushing the boat out, and they were even better if they were from Ravel !!

And having sheer tights was simply a must, bending over and showing what looked like American tan shorts was without a doubt a prisonable offence.

Painting little Daisies around your eyes with liquid shadow and spider like top and bottom lashes were just fab, funny how peeling off your eyelashes to put on the bedside table was perfectly normal, and funny enough probably is again now :) I loved those days everything was new and we were all so modern, Chelsea Girl, Etam, Max Factor Pan stick and gluing silver paper starts to your platforms all fond memories, although you couldn't pay me to go back in time, if you had kinky wavy hair then, tough, no Ghd's, if you had spots, tough it was clearasil or nothing, and as for anything with wings.....forget that ,you had the belt !  if you are reading this and too young to know what that was consider yourself extremely fortunate lol.

Would really love to hear your memories.

Habitat Candle Review

If you are anything like me Habitat has been with you since you had your very first home, My very first purchase was back in 1973 from the Croydon store, with my meagre £5.50 a week wages I used to spend lunch hours, wandering and lusting after the gorgeous homewares, well lucky me stumbled across a sale and made my very first purchase a white enamel coffee pot, very trendy for the day and at the princely sum of 75p it served as a very trendy little kettle in my pretty shabby little bedsit.

Ok, now don't laugh ,but I still to this day have that little pot as it was my very first homeware purchase. My next foray into the world of Habitat was with my very first flat, where I went crazy with the red cherry wallpaper and kitchen ware, I went berserk even down to a tea towel and matching oven gloves lol, red and white kitchen in the late 70's !  sheesh I was trendy.
It then moved on in the early eighties to Black Ash furniture, well didn't we all :)   all that bloody dusting I will never forget it.

Habitat is one of those stores that is easy to overlook, it doesn't scream at you with loud shouty advertising and I truly feel it has become a British icon, whilst a great website I don't think online shopping replaces wandering and lusting a lot of things you really need to see in the flesh in their proper setting to get a true sense of style.

The perfumed candle range is pretty new to me, I am I must admit a bit of a candle snob, and don't always feel that the price represents quality.  Habitat surprised me, these candles are stunning, when I say that I don't mean in looks, although a nice chunky frosted jar always looks classy in it's simplicity, it's just the sheer quality that I was impressed with.

When lit the three wicks burned slowly and evenly, which is a major issue with me I hate it when a candle burns lopsided, yep I know I am weird !  anyway the smell was divine, but oddly not overpowering, I say oddly because while the candle was in the lounge I could actually smell it in the hallway, but it was subtle in the lounge.......fabulous, and the best thing ever was that entering the lounge in the morning I could smell the gorgeous fragrance from the night before !  I have NEVER experienced this before with a candle.

This particular one was Cotton and Neroli, hard to describe, it didn't smell like the typical cotton fragrance candle it was more like a warm summer evening somewhere luxurious.

To Buy or just browse check out Habitat here.

The wonder of the WWW

How lucky is this generation ?

The wealth of information on the internet is endless, you can literally have any subject at the click of a button, personal trainers, fashion stylists, make up artists, yoga mentors, the list goes on.....

Are we though ? lucky ?  or are we being drip fed this idea of perfection that is totally unobtainable, lets take just the Instagram app as an example, in it's raw state it was for us ordinary folks to share snapshots of our lives, be they ordinary, messy or just plain amusing, now, if you look at it the photo shopped glossy images lead us to believe that everyones life is sheer perfection, homes filled with endless light and no mess, beautiful faces that look as though they have spent hours to achieve, when the best we can hope for most days is to look half decent :)

And don't even get me started on the ideal body shape lol.
It really does make me wonder though if it is the cause of so much teenage angst, trying to live up to all this hype, as ladies of a certain age I think we can see beyond the gloss, and view this ideal for what it is, and just appreciate beautiful imagery. At the same time arrange the perfect vignette , and ensuring our homes always have fresh flowers !  who says I'm not sucked into the hype ?

I am assuming dear reader, that just by the sheer fact that you are reading this that you love the power of the Internet as much as I do.
With a quick www. no one is ever lonely or bored, I am on a site on Facebook for the town In London that I was bought up in, just for memory lane pictures and the like, there is an elderly woman on there that I have never met and nor has anyone else, but this lady says good morning to the members on the site every single day and a good night when she is going to sleep, if she is late the hundred plus people that respond to her start asking questions as to where she is ?  That lady may live alone in her Tower block but she is never lonely, and I for one think that is just the loveliest thing :)

Food for thought eh ?
would love your comments on what the www brings to your life.
